So many people cling on to the idea of religion as if for dear life. We credit religion for everything that transpires in life, grand or minute. One of the many contradictory aspects of religion is grace. Grace is understood by many to mean undeserved mercy. Grace in my opinion, is equivalent to saying “things could be worse.” I was looking at a talk show. A lady, stabbed 27 times while pregnant, but survived. Now she and her daughter suffer mentally because of such a traumatic experience. They have to live with that awful memory every day. Is that grace? I have two health conditions which are incurable. I was always a health nut, very comfortable and confident with myself. Now, it's one setback after another. I am depressed a lot of the time. Many days I wonder why I did wake up. Life seems such a hassle now...certainly not a present. Is that grace?
There is devastation all around us. Many innocent people suffer the side effects of what we call life: babies born with illnesses, people with lung cancer that have never smoked a day in their life, families losing their fathers, sons, etc. in war just for doing their job. In the same token, the bible depicted many wars, and is one of the most gruesome books ever.
I am personally quite worn from people giving credit to an idea, instead of admitting that life is just a string of spontaneous scenarios, pleasant and unpleasant. People are conditioned to believe that there is a greater power pulling the strings, then throw in the fact of free will. Which is it? Doesn't free will cancel out the idea of someone or something in control?

Where Is the Love
What is it about some absent parents that make them feel child support alone is their only responsibility? Anyone who is constantly involved and connected with their children know that emotional support is vital, as well. The absentee parent usually feels comfortable with being "deadbeat" because they realize that someone else is there to carry their slack. This is more and more evident in fathers. The emotional dettachment can affect childrens' social abilities and self-esteem. Children need to know that they have a parents support and nurturing, no matter how old they get. But, it seems that the same folk that are countless parents, are the same that are continuously spitting out more children. For this reason, I believe there should be court ordered sterilizations.

Industrialized America
The drug industry alone is vital to the economy of industrialized countries. New diseases and mental disorders are constantly being “invented” to fit the erratic behavior of society. This behavior is not centralizing to only children. In the last ten years, there has been a rash of child murders by the parent. Society will diagnose that the parent may have been depressed or on antidepressants which caused such uncontrollable acts. Why did we not hear of such events decades ago? It could be the effects of new drugs being constantly introduced to the market, produced for the purpose of capitalization. Many of the wealthy stay wealthy by investing into these drug manufacturing companies. After all, capitalism is the focus of industrialized countries.
Another reflection of an industrialized country is the lack of appreciation for advancement. With the invention of the computer, the world has rapidly changed. The invention went on to spark new or improved inventions. Some of those are recreational, others are media related. Most people have become reliant upon their cell phones, or other gadgets of communication. Children have become enthralled in the world of video games; a vast majority of then displays sex and violence. Yet it takes great knowledge of computers to design them. Video games are keeping some children from a certain level of creativity, causing them to become overweight due to lack of physical activity. In years past, children would enjoy the outdoors to network with other children, and devise new games. In turn, it exercises their critical thinking. Board games would bring families together to incorporate fun and education, such as scrabble. The world of video games is creating a society of stagnant thinkers, though it was ignited by visionaries.

Land of the Free
What worth is America's justice system, really. Everyday I see some obviously guilty thug on the news that has the luxury of a free trial. Why? If the guilt is conclusive, why waste taxes and time. I'll tell you why. America is a country of capitalism. Before justice comes the almighty dollar, founded and built upon it. The proof is in the many white-collar crimes bred in the ole red, white, and blue. now N.C. is discussing releasing mates with life sentences, which is nonsense. It is bad enough to get a stiffer sentence for drug trafficking than murder, especially if you are Black. I even feel the death penalty is to lenient with their lethal injections. We should have old-fashion court square hangings, stonings, etc. All I am saying is that America is kind of like those parents that would rather be their child's friend than a parent. Think of how the crime rate would decrease if rapers were ordered to be castrated. And I would love to be the one holding the ax. ; )
